Sian Pilley
Is from Cornish stock and has an infinity with all things
Cornish, especially when it comes to the beaches and stunning
scenery of the cliffs where the land meets the sea.
With a background in the arts Sian completed a degree in
art in a social context at Bristol before going on to do a
PGCE at Marjon in Plymouth and gaining qualified teacher status.
Sian has worked at a number of schools in Cornwall, including
Porthleven, and now mainly does supply work when required.
Sian also has a background in stories and story telling and
believes this to be an important part of community life and
often gets involved with organising community projects and
devising Cornish curriculum material for schools. Now a mother
to their first daughter, Ivy, Sian is keen to develop waterborne
and its position within the community of Porthleven and bring
Ivy up with the taste and smell of the sea. Also a keen musician,
Sian is always up for a good knees up.
